Building a Scalable DEIB Strategy Inside a Global Tech Company
Sector: Technology
Region: DACH
Services: DEIB Strategy Development, Leadership Engagement, Employee Listening, Internal Framework Design
The Challenge
A multinational technology company was experiencing inconsistent progress on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) across its global offices. While pockets of engagement existed, there was no unified strategy, and local teams lacked direction and support. Leadership was committed — but needed a scalable, measurable way to move from intent to action.
Our Approach
Listening First
We began by conducting internal interviews with employee resource groups (ERGs), regional HR teams, and informal change agents to understand local realities. This uncovered key insights and helped identify both challenges and momentum.
Strategic Alignment
We positioned DEIB as a business enabler, not a siloed HR initiative. The strategy was linked to talent attraction, innovation culture, and global growth — ensuring strong executive sponsorship and long-term relevance.
Framework Design
We developed a flexible DEIB framework built around four core focus areas:
- Leadership – Inclusive leadership training and accountability
- Voice – Employee listening, ERG support, and feedback mechanisms
- Systems – Inclusive policies, processes, and performance frameworks
- Storytelling – Internal comms, success stories, and global alignment
Each area had its own workstream with clear goals, timelines, and regional adaptability.
Execution & Engagement
We co-designed monthly check-ins, cross-regional learning exchanges, and quarterly DEIB updates to build transparency and consistency without overburdening teams. The goal: progress, not perfection — and engagement over compliance.
The Impact
- A unified DEIB strategy rolled out across multiple regions
- Stronger ERG collaboration and visibility
- Clear roles, goals, and governance for DEIB workstreams
- Tangible leadership commitment and employee engagement
- Belonging embedded as a strategic priority across the organization
